Flowering in Kyoto ( 北村穣 氏と協力して)
2016年夏にホテルアンテルーム京都の新館がオープンしました。
新館の 1F に 9名のアーティストがオリジナルに手掛ける9室があり、各部屋に液晶が装備されています。
部屋に入られると自動的に液晶がつき映像アートが流れる仕組みになっています。
この映像システムを手掛けると同時に作品も展示しています。
今回の作品名は「Flowering in Kyoto」です。
京都は伝統、文化、自然に溢れています。町をふらーっと散歩しているとタイムスリップしたようで、よくみると実は進化しています。
中からの新しい発想、海外からの影響、進化の種はあらゆる方向から飛んできては吸収され咲いていきます。
花も光、天気、周辺によって影響をうけ偶然の重ね合いで一つしか存在しないつぼみとして産まれます。
「Flowering in Kyoto」も同様で時刻、気温、天気によって流れる速度、なる音は変化します。
京都も花も、見た瞬間立ち止まっているようで実は、、、LIVE IN THE MOMENT, SEE THE FUTURE。
「Flowering in Kyoto」の映像は何時間も掛けたインターバル撮影によるもので撮影者の北村穣氏（http://www.rudesign.jp）との共同作品です。

Flowering in Kyoto (in collaboration with Yutaka Kitamura)
Hotel Anteroom is an art filled reasonably priced hotel to the South of Kyoto Station.
In July, 2016 Hotel Anteroom expanded with 9 special rooms curated and decorated by 9 artists (including Ninakawa Mika and Nawa Kohei).
In each of the rooms is a plasma display which turns on automatically when you enter the room.
Rather than showing TV it plays video art. We developed the video playback/switching system, and also made a new piece for the installation.
Our new piece is called Flowering in Kyoto and was made in collaboration with Yutaka Kitamura.
Kyoto is a city rich in tradition, culture and nature. Walking down alleys can feel like a trip back in time, but Kyoto itself is ever changing.
Whether from inspiration from locals or oversea visitors new ideas are always taking root and blooming.
Flowers are much the same, each blossom unique, varying depending on the rain, sun and nutrients.
Flowering in Kyoto features flowers painstakingly photographed in time lapse.
Depending on the time, temperature and sun exposure the speed at which they bloom, and the music which plays is ever changing, ever unqiue.
